Holy Orders is the sacrament that ordains men in service to God, bestowing on them spiritual power and grace to perform sacred duties. It is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to His apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time.
Although the entire Church is responsible for providing a witness of Christ’s love, men who have received this sacrament fulfill this obligation in a more complete way.
These men, consisting of deacons, priests, and bishops, are the visible representatives of Christ for His Church on earth and form the center of the Body of Christ and make known Jesus Christ as the Head of the Church.
